Position Summary
The Cheese Cutter is responsible for safely and efficiently preparing cheese products according to established size, weight, and quality specifications. This is a fast-paced, physically demanding position that requires employees to work as part of a team while maintaining production and food-safety standards.
The Cheese Cutter is responsible for safely and efficiently preparing cheese products according to established size, weight, and quality specifications. This is a fast-paced, physically demanding position that requires employees to work as part of a team while maintaining production and food-safety standards.
Essential Responsibilities
- Cut cheese products to specified sizes, weights, and production requirements.
- Unbox cheese and open product bags, including bags weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Handle and move cheese products between processing areas.
- Place cut cheese into designated bags, totes, or containers.
- Inspect products for quality and ensure they meet established specifications.
- Operate or assist with equipment used in the cheese-cutting and rework process.
- Assist with rework activities as production needs change.
- Rotate between tasks and work areas as directed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area.
- Follow all company safety, food-safety, quality, and production procedures.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support production operations.
Qualifications
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, & perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to safely lift and handle heavy bags or containers, including materials weighing up to 100 pounds, with appropriate assistance or equipment as required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and meet product specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others and adapt to changing production needs.
- Previous food-production or manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
