Quality Assurance Technician
Location: Dyersville, IA
1st Shift, 6am to 4:30pm, Monday-Thursday
Wage: $20/hour
 
Looking for a self-starter with great attendance, the ability to work well with others and is self-sufficient with minimal supervision. A successful candidate will possess a safety mindset and good communication skills and will demonstrate attention to detail, good record keeping, organization, and precision abilities. Candidate must comply with company and customer's standard requirements, have computer skills with knowledge of MS Office software, and possess basic math skills. Additionally, the candidate must have the ability to work under time pressures and flexibility to adjust to sudden work patterns, and can work four, 10-hour shifts plus overtime on occasion.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Inspect incoming materials, in-process components, and finished die cast parts using measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMMs).
  2. Perform First Article Inspections (FAIs), in-process audits, and final inspections according to control plans and blueprints.
  3. Document and report non-conformances, assist in root cause analysis, and support corrective/preventive actions.
  4. Review and maintain records for PPAP submissions, control plans, and quality documentation in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
  5. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and improve manufacturing processes.
  6. Calibrate and maintain inspection equipment and tools.
  7. Participate in internal audits and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  8. Train operators and production personnel on quality procedures as needed.
Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
  2. Minimum 2 years of experience in quality assurance in a manufacturing or die casting environment preferred.
  3. The ability to read prints and understand specifications provided by the customers is required.
  4. Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 standards, GD&T, and PPAP documentation.
  5. Strong understanding of dimensional inspection tools and techniques.
  6. Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) is a plus.
  7. Ability to lift up to 50lbs; stand, lift and inspect parts for extended periods.
