CNC OPERATOR WITH SET UP AND TROUBLESHOOTING
SHIFTS: 1ST AND 2ND SHIFT
WAGE: $22-$26/HOUR
LOCATION: JANESVILLE WI AREA

Position Overview
As a CNC Operator you will set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines (often lathes) to produce metal parts to specification. You’ll be working within a precision manufacturing environment where accuracy, quality, and safety are key. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Read setup sheets, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine required dimensions and machining sequence. 
  • Set up CNC machines: load fixtures/work-pieces, install cutting tools, secure parts, adjust machine settings (speeds, feeds, offsets). 
  • Operate the machine during production, monitor cycles, and detect issues such as tool wear or part inconsistencies. 
  • Perform in-process inspection: measure workpieces with calipers, micrometers, gauges to verify conformance to specs. 
  • Maintain machine/work area: keep it clean, follow 5S and safety protocols, document operations and production output. 
  • Other duties as assigned (may include assisting maintenance, changing tools, some manual operations). 
Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or vocational training preferred. 
  • Minimum of ~1 year of experience in CNC machine setup/operation (for the “Operator / Setup Technician” level) in this company. 
  • Mechanical aptitude, basic arithmetic (fractions, decimals, metric/inch conversions). 
  • Good communication skills, ability to follow instructions, reliable attendance.
