MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN- MANUFACTURING
TYPE: DIRECT HIRE
WAGE: $25-35/HOUR
SCHEDULE: 2ND SHIFT
  • 2nd shift hours: 4:00pm-2:30am Mon-Thurs, overtime as needed on Fridays 
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician ensures that all equipment, machinery, and systems in a food manufacturing facility are running efficiently and safely. This role involves performing regular inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on production lines and supporting equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) on production equipment, including mixers, ovens, conveyors, packaging machines, and refrigeration units
  2. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment to minimize downtime
  3. Monitor machinery for any signs of wear or malfunction and take immediate corrective actions.
  4. Respond to emergency breakdowns and document repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities.
  5. Ensure compliance with food safety, OSHA, GMP, and company standards during all maintenance work.
  6. Support audits, inspections, equipment calibration, and facility safety.
  7. Maintain spare parts and tool inventory; order materials as needed.
  8. Identify and implement process improvements through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  9. Complete maintenance logs and required compliance documentation.
  10. Coordinate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to schedule work with minimal operational impact.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in a maintenance role, preferably in food manufacturing or similar industrial settings.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations, GMP, and safety standards in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and automation systems.
  • Familiarity with food production equipment (mixers, conveyors, packaging systems, ovens, etc.).
  • Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs pounds as well as stand, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes noisy environment.
