Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Mechanic Trainee to join our team in Dyersville, IA. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start or grow a career in mechanical maintenance and repair. The Mechanic Trainee will work alongside experienced technicians, learning how to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair equipment and vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Assist mechanics with inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
- Learn to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
- Complete training programs and develop mechanical skills through hands-on experience.
- Document maintenance and repair activities as needed.
Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Previous mechanical experience, vocational training, or automotive coursework is a plus but not required.
- Ability to use basic hand tools.
- Strong attendance and work ethic.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a shop environment.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
