General Production Worker / Rebar Fabricator 1
$16-18 / HOUR

As a rebar fabricator, your responsibilities include manufacturing steel rebar using in building construction projects by cutting, bending, tying, and performing other processes to meet project materials specifications. In this job, you read technical drawings to identify the requested size of the rebar, cut pieces with a rebar cutter, bend to the specified angles and dimensions using rebar bender machinery, and ensure pieces meet quality control standards by remeasuring. Other duties include following and reinforcing established operations safety procedures and guidelines, delivering completed parts to production areas, and cleaning workspaces.
Basic Functions:
- Must adhere to safety programs and standards.
- Operate a shearing machine to cut reinforcing steel bars to specific lengths.
- Operate a bending machine to bend reinforcing steel bars to specified shape.
- Operate forklift to move, assemble and select material to be fabricated or shipped.
- Maintain the shop or designated area in a clean and safe manner.
- Assist other employees in any of the above tasks.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
High school diploma, GED or local/state equivalent
SELECTION CRITERIA
Must have basic math skills to be able to calculate bar measurements
Manufacturing environment or directly related experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Some heavy lifting may be necessary
Working conditions can be noisy/ dusty/ hot/ cold
