Job Summary
The Category Analyst supports category strategy by analyzing sales trends, managing inventory, and assisting with promotional planning. This role ensures products are in stock, priced right, and performing well, while working closely with the Category Manager and cross-functional teams. Growth potential into a Category Manager role.
Qualifications
- College degree preferred; High School Diploma or GED required
- 1–2 years of experience in purchasing or data analysis
Key Responsibilities
- Manage orders and replenishment based on system recommendations
- Analyze sales, inventory, and vendor performance
- Maintain accurate product and vendor data
- Support promotional planning and evaluation
- Collaborate with marketing, operations, and distribution teams
- Communicate with stores and DC on category-related issues
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in Excel and data tools
- Knowledge of retail operations
